 State Auditor's Government Efficiency Hotline

ESB 5513, passed by the 2007 Legislature, authorized the Washington State Auditor’s Office to create a toll-free hotline with the purpose of improving government efficiency and accountability.

Citizens and government employees can call the hotline at 1-866-902-3900 or go online to www.sao.wa.gov/hotline to report waste, fraud and abuse or to report outstanding achievement and efficiency in government.

Information pamphlets and posters regarding the hotline were recently mailed to all local governments. The bill requires hotline information to be posted in all government offices in "locations where it is most likely to be seen by the public."

If you need more information, contact Jim Brittain, Director of Special Investigations, State Auditor’s Office at (360) 902-0372.
