A Timely Reminder: No Need to Pay for Employment Posters

The January 1, 2006 increase in the state minimum wage has prompted some unscrupulous vendors to contact employers, warning of substantial fines if they don’t purchase up-to-date workplace posters from them—at a cost of $85 (or even more).

This is just another reminder to employers that required workplace posters are available for free from the issuing state and federal agencies.

A comprehensive list of all required and recommended posters, including information on how to obtain them (either online or by phone), can be found on the website of the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries at: http://www.lni.wa.gov/ipub/101-054-000.pdf.

If you do not have Internet access and need a printed copy of this list, contact Deanna Krell, deannak@awcnet.org.
