Governor may call special session
The Legislature adjourned early this morning but Governor Gregoire stated in a press conference today, that she may call a special session to vote on remaining bills that are necessary to implement the budget. The Governor is planning to meet with legislative leadership sometime this week to determine if and when the Legislature would reconvene. It will not be immediately, but likely well before the June Revenue Forecast. She stated she will only call a special session if there is agreement on the issues and the bills. She does not want to see debate occur during a special session and is hoping that it would only last a day or two.
