AWC Housing Policy Advisory Group’s First Meeting
The first meeting of AWC’s ad hoc Housing Policy Advisory Group occurred on Friday, October 19. City officials from Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Kirkland, Burien, Bainbridge Island, Grandview, Bothell, Federal Way, Tukwila, Kennewick, Langley and Lake Forest Park participated in a lively and informative discussion of housing opportunities, challenges and issues within their communities. Another meeting is planned for early December.
This Housing Policy Advisory Group will advise AWC staff on housing matters, including availability and affordability, leading into and during the 2008 session and will help AWC develop longer term strategies and initiatives designed to assist communities in providing constructive ideas to address housing challenges.
Ideas and perspectives generated during the meetings will be posted on our website starting right before the Thanksgiving Holiday break. City officials interested in this topic are encouraged to look at the information generated by this group and provide comments and feedback to AWC staff.
