City officials are encouraged to write the Governor and ask for her support of SSB 5647 regarding the use of lodging tax revenues. We know others are asking her to veto the bill. She must hear from city officials – thanks. See the Municipal Finance section for more information.

AWC Priority bill, ESHB 1858, (Transportation Benefit Districts), passed the Legislature on April 11, and has been delivered to the Governor for her signature. This is an important local tool for local transportation purposes. Please send a letter to the Governor in support of this legislation. See the Infrastructure, Transportation & Economic Development section for more information.

Please contact the Governor in support of Sec. 66 of E2SSB 5930 regarding medical care for offenders. It clarifies for law enforcement who is responsible for medical costs of offenders. See the General Local Government section for more information.

Timing of Accrual of Property Tax Revenues (ESSB 5836) - This AWC priority bill expedites the transfer of library and fire district property taxes in areas containing these services when annexed to a city and is its way to the Governor for signature.
