Ask your Representatives to support AWC Priority Bill, SSB 5647, which would give cities greater flexibility when using lodging tax revenues. See the Municipal Finance section for more information.
Please contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and ask them to request that the Chair schedule hearings on ESHB 1030 and SHB 1590 before the cut-off on Friday, March 30. See the Law & Justice section for more information.
ESHB 1873, regarding wrongful injury or death of a child, will be heard next week. Please contact Senate Judiciary Committee members and ask them not to pass out of committee this expansion of liability for wrongful injury or death causes of action that will just make these cases over which we have little control more expensive. Now is the time to contact your Representatives urging them to oppose E2SSB 5659, which establishes a family leave insurance program. The bill creates more confusion and risk of liability for employers trying to comply with already confusing leave laws. See the Personnel & Labor Relations section for more information.
Please contact your senators, particularly if they serve on the Senate Labor, Commerce, Research & Development Committee, urging them to vote against ESHB 1833, the presumptive disease bill for firefighters. See the Personnel & Labor Relations section for more information.
