What you can do now
- Offender medical costs (HB 1780) – AWC Priority
HB 1780 has not yet passed out of the House General Government Appropriations Committee. Please contact members on the committee to express support for continuing the current practice regarding responsibility for offender medical costs.
- Limited yard debris burning in small cities (SB 5835) – AWC Priority
This bill would allow yard debris burning in certain urban growth areas on two Saturdays in the fall. It is technically "alive" until early next week. If this issue would impact your city, please contact your Senator to ask their help in keeping SB 5835 alive! See Environment & Water Section.
- Street utility (HB 1947) – AWC Priority
This bill would authorize cities to create a Street Utility. Because this is a "fiscal" bill, we have until next week to move the bill out of committee. This bill will require strong support from our cities. Please contact your legislator on the House Transportation Committee in support of HB 1947. See Infrastructure section.
