Next week's hearings

  • Taxation of brokered natural and manufactured gas (HB 1422)
    This bill is scheduled to be heard in the House Finance Committee on Thursday, February 5.
  • Correctional facility policies regarding medication management (SB 5252)
    This proposal specifically authorizing jail personnel to provide for the delivery and administration of medications and medication assistance for inmates in their custody will be heard in the Senate Human Services & Corrections Committee on Tuesday, February 3 at 1:30 pm.See the Law & Justice section.
  • Reducing the amount of petroleum pollution in storm water (SB 5518/HB 1614)
    The Senate version is scheduled in the Environment and Water & Energy Committee on February 6 at 8 am.
  • Concerning economic stimulus (HB 1452/SB 5604)
    This is the Governor’s capital budget and will be heard on February 2 in the House Capital Budget Committee at 3:30 pm.

What you can do now

  • Property crimes threshold (SB 5225)
    SB 5225
    would raise the threshold between misdemeanor and felony property crimes from the current level of $250 in property to $1000. AWC did not weigh in on a similary bill last year raising the threshold to $750 because some cities believed the change would have reflected current practice in their counties. AWC would like feedback from cities about this year’s proposed $1000 threshold. See the Law & Justice section.
