AWC Soliciting Officials to Serve on the Legislative Committee

AWC President Karen Rogers and Vice President Glenn Johnson will soon appoint AWC’s 2008-09 Legislative Committee. The purpose of the Legislative Committee is to refine the recently adopted resolutions into specific legislative proposals and recommend legislative priorities to the Board in November.

AWC is soliciting interested elected and appointed officials to serve on the Committee. This is a two year appointment given our two year legislative process. This Committee will also make recommendations in the fall/winter of 09 to the Board for the 2010 Legislative session.

The full Legislative Committee will meet only once or twice this fall/winter and the same again next year. Meetings will likely be held in the SeaTac area. Most of the work will be done by subcommittees via conference call – maybe 4-5 two hour calls. Almost all of the meetings are held from July to November although we do seek assistance from Committee members with their legislators throughout the year.

Unfortunately, AWC is unable to provide reimbursement for attendance to the meetings.
