What’s Ahead: Key Issues

• AWC’s legislative priorities fared well in the Governor’s proposed 2007-09 budget. Among other things, the budget assumes passage of SST legislation with full mitigation ($31.6 million). See the Municipal Finance & Economic Development section for more details.
  
• Along with other government partners and stakeholders, AWC legislative staff have been invited to provide an overview of goals and priorities for the 2007 session at a House Local Government Committee work session at 1:30 pm, on Tuesday, January 9.
  
• Two AWC priorities – the Local Infrastructure Finance Tool (LIFT) and the Job Development Fund – will be discussed at a work session before the House Community, Economic Development & Trade Committee on Wednesday, January 10, at 8:00 am. Agency updates on both issues will be provided.
