Municipal Achievement Awards
On June 21, 2006, AWC honored the winners of its Municipal Achievement Awards program. The Municipal Achievement Awards honor excellence in city government programs and encourages other cities to develop similar programs that will benefit their communities. Municipal Achiever of the YearCity of Liberty Lake – Liberty Lake Municipal LibraryLiberty Lake was specially selected for this top honor for their outstanding achievement in furthering community education and creating community cohesiveness. The library was born out of hope and countless volunteer hours. The library has programs for children as well as a book club for seniors. The dream continues to grow as the city has purchased the land next to the library and a plan of expanding is already in the works.
