Communicate City Issues to the Washington Congressional Delegation
The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) works closely with our national affiliate, the National League of Cities (NLC), to track federal legislation that concerns cities.
Keep your congressional delegation informed of the issues in this Bulletin, as well as those federal issues of particular interest to your city.
If you are attending the NLC Congressional Conference in Washington, DC, March 11-15, 2005, please discuss these issues when you meet with your U.S. Senators and Representatives.
Meeting with the Congressional Delegation
City officials attending the NLC conference are encouraged to contact DeAnn Hartman of AWC at deannh@awcnet.org to coordinate meetings with the delegation.
However, if your city is scheduling its own meeting, please be sure to do so in advance of your trip. NLC has suggested that attendees request meetings for anytime on Tuesday, March 15, during City Lobby Day. Check the conference schedule on the NLC website (www.nlc.org) to minimize conflicts.
