Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program

Applications due March 10, 2005

This grant program is being made available by the Department of Justice, Headquarters, Office on Violence Against Women.

By statute, grant funds may only be used to support project activities that increase options for supervised visitation and safe exchange by and between parents. Therefore, grant funds may not be used to support supervised visitation and monitored exchanges of children in foster care, kinship care, or protective supervision.

National Fire Plan Community Assistance and Wildland Urban Interface Projects for Fiscal Year 2006

Applications due February 11, 2005

Included are grants and agreements for the Community Assistance program components of the National Fire Plan (NFP) being delivered through the USDA Forest Service (FS) and USDI’s, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in the Pacific Northwest.

The programs included in this request for applications are:

  • “Wildland-Urban Interface Fuels Treatment Projects” of all participating federal agencies;
  • “Wildland-Urban Interface Community Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning” of all participating federal agencies;
  • “Wildland-Urban Interface Prevention and Education Projects” of all participating federal agencies; and
  • “Wildland-Urban Interface Fuels Utilization and Marketing,” to the extent agencies have funds available.

Eligible projects may include development of a community wildfire protection plan; implementation of fuels treatments in the wildland-urban interface area; small-diameter and biomass utilization opportunities; and wildland-urban interface fire prevention and education programs. Projects that implement action items in a community wildfire protection plan and that can be completed within two to three years are strongly encouraged. Fuels treatment projects that incorporate biomass utilization are also encouraged.
